Anne Mackin, and her two daughters, oversee the fort that is Giant’s Foot Youth Club every Monday, Wednesday and Friday where the doors are open to all children from the local estate.

Special Olympics – Bury is a sports organisation that provides those with a disability a place where they can interact with other members and participate in a variety of sports.

Since the transfer of the business to community ownership, the level of community investment, both in terms of financial contributions and volunteer activity, has grown. The local shop has become a community hub where people not only shop, but meet to exchange views and publicise local events.

Two nuns have transformed their local community, who have shown appreciation and commitment to their work by joining them as volunteers, allowing them to extend the activities to the wider community.
