Quality Accreditation

Quality Accreditation is a programme run by CFN to endorse and encourage best practice in the network. We have secured the endorsement of the Charity Commission for England and Wales twice for the programme, the first charity network to achieve this status.  .

Endorsed accreditation schemes:

  • use standards which are consistent with the Commission's Hallmarks of an Effective Charity
  • undertake assessment processes that are independent of the charity being assessed
  • undertake robust, transparent and fair assessment processes

More information can be found here.

Quality Accreditation is based on a set of standards developed by members for members. Achieving Quality Accreditation demonstrates that community foundations are serious about quality and accountability. It specifies what we do and how we do it in a way that other quality systems cannot ensure.

Standards include five key performance areas plus a corporate assessment.

  • Definition and governance
  • Finance and risk
  • Donor services and development
  • Grant making
  • Community engagement and communications

Community foundations accredited by CFN are entitled to use a special network logo.
