Taurus Employment Development Ltd was set up in 1982 to educate and train people who through their social or economic circumstances are in need and unable to gain employment, or wish to further their education.
In 2007 the trustees decided to wind up the charity and transfer the assets to a Named Fund at the Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon with a view to continuing their work in the Swindon area.
“Many of the Taurus trustees were aware of the work of the foundation and were attracted to the fact that the main thrust of the Taurus work would continue. The whole process of the transfer of assets to the foundation was easy and not bureaucratic.”
