The Shuker Educational Fund was set up with a £2 million legacy left to Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation by Mr and Mrs Brian Shuker of Trowbridge.
The aim of the fund is to give financial help to students from poorer backgrounds who want to study at an established university in the UK.
“Mr & Mrs Shuker chose to ask the community foundation to manage their bequest as they saw it as a simple and effective way of setting a fund in place to meet their own charitable interests. They were confident that their fund would not only be professionally managed, but also properly resourced to provide financial support to the most deserving young people in West Wiltshire for years to come.”
