533 new funds were set up in the year, with an average fund size of £95,000, and a total value of £50.5m - over a third more than in previous year. Community philanthropists continue to support local organisations despite austerity.

Grants were made to the value of £62 million in 2010-11. Across the network, over 26,000 grants were made.

Just 21% of new funds in 2010-11 came from the public sector, with 48% established by the private sector and the remainder coming from other sources.
